Now the start of this article will be a little controversial because…
Most content is BOOOOORING.
Yes, I said it!
It’s repetitive, cliche and most of the time over complicated. This means 5% of the content will get 95% of the sales and in this article I’ll tell you why.
The secret to write content that SELLS
There are a few steps to this secret:
Stop over complicating your ads.
Keep it short and to the point.
Make it easy to skim through
Write like you’re talking to someone familiar. Keep it casual. (Like I’m doing right now.)
And for all of the above is an extra rule:
write without being annoying, sleazy and salesy.
TikTok-hive-mind hooks that grab your reader and don’t let go
There’s no other way of saying this. You’ve got to hook your reader AND keep him in that position.
And in the current online world, it needs to be quick and catchy.
Make it impossible to scroll down. Get them to read that headline, subheader, first sentence and then the next…until they get to the end and read the CTA.
That CTA is a major component in this and you can read all about that here.
What not to do
"We’re really good at what we do and the competition is bad and we’ve been in business for 20 years and we really care about you as a customer.”
You can find that sentence or at least part of it on an insane amount of websites or ads from your competition and like I said in the start of this article…
It’s boring.
People don’t care about those points. They care about the product or service and most importantly…results.
When people first land on your website they’re not ready to commit yet. They're just browsing the menu, seeing if anything catches their eye.
It’s up to you to use those catchy headlines, subheaders and paragraphs to SELL them on the idea of sticking around and reading more or buying your product.
Again, it’s the exact same thing I'm doing here. Subheaders that reveal parts of the story and hit the key points. Enough so that the reader or buyer goes to the next step.
But there's another secret to this…
You need to make it all about THEM.
The reader. Make THEM the star of the show.
Not trying to hurt your feelings but everyone cares about themselves.
Only when they believe and understand that you’re actually trying to help them, they are ready to hear your story or buy your product.
So keep it laser focused on how reading your stuff on your website, posts or ads will help THEM out.
It will surprise you how much of a difference this will make.
Skip The Bullshit While Writing
Yes, I also said that, and it is the last thing I want to cover.
Don't dance around their skepticism and objections like some first year college student afraid to offend anyone by running through the maze of ALL of the ways people get offended in this day and age.
Address possible objections and issues head on.
Just be real with people.
